Up for auction is a kit with which you rescue and restore your Sony ICF Pro70/80. (See Pic 1 for packing details of this kit) It has everything included in the Standard package, plus two IC’s that are commonly found faulty on Pro 80: the voltage regulator and power amp, thus highly recommended for service professionals. IC’s are Sanyo original, brand new or NOS never used. This radio is a well known, well loved and much sought after all-band receiver, yet most units you find today suffer leaking or dried out electrolytic capacitors that make audio very weak or none. To replace these capacitors is no easy job because SMD type electrolytic capacitors are difficult to handle by standard tools and particularly so when working on ICF Pro80 where space is highly limited. Quite often PCB’s are ripped or torn, or new parts themselves are damaged when soldiering. It is truly a serious challenge even for highly skilled hands. My tantalum kit makes recapping job on ICF Pro 80 painless and stress free. Besides, tantalum capacitors are known for being far more accurate in specification and they easily outlive capacitors of any other kind. Truly guaranteed for life! This kit includes 16 tantalum SMD capacitors for much easier handling and 2 regular electrolytic capacitors you need to replace, plus a green LED to refresh the Liquid Crystal Display.
